Got my new Blancpain for 2 days! Some pictures and thoughts

The gift to myself for getting the PhD:
I absolutely LOVE the matte finish on the case! I gave a lecture early today with short sleeves and I feel very comfortable wearing it. It attracts no unnecessary attention. (If I got the Breguet marine, I probably would take it off before the class.) However the depth and sophistication of the dial and how the hands play with the light are amazing and I can easily get lost in the dial. Unfortunately the pictures can not do it justice.
I also like the alarm function a lot. I use it to set my coffee break time which causes me drank more coffee than I should these days. Another feature that I found very handy is the time-zone jumping hour hand. (I am not sure if it is its proper name.) I knew this feature before I bought it, but what I did not know is that it can change the date both forward and backward, which I believe is quite rare even for a GMT watch.
Also the finishing of the movement and the dark brown leather strap make the watch almost perfect to me aesthetically. However, I also find several drawbacks of this watch.
Firstly, the case, initially I thought there is a crack on the side of the it (over the letters ''PA'')
However, I found some other pictures of this model online show the same crack looking on it. For example the picture from Ashford, which means it is not a special case on my watch. Am I too picky about this?
I also found the alarm is not as accurate as I expected. I've used the alarm for 10+ times and it will always be triggered 2-4 minutes later than the time I set. Further, the alarm power reserve won't go to 0. It has about 5% remaining after the alarm runs out. That may be my own watch's issue, since I saw couple videos reviewing leman reveil and non of them has these two problems.
To conclude, I am still in the honeymoon with my Blancpain. Its versatility is my favorite point and I don't think I will take it off my wrist in the near future. However, although those defects I mentioned above do not bother me too much in day to day use, but as a luxury product, Blancpain could have done it better.
Cheers!
