Amazing piece Gordon, huge congrats!
Dec 07, 2016,14:04 PM
Fantastic to read about your journey to acquiring this magnificent piece. The artwork and the timepiece overall is gorgeous and looks very much at home on your wrist. I am also impressed by the wonderful presentation materials and boxes. Chopard clearly needs to better market these extraordinary timepieces, they deserve far more recognition. Very happy to see it has landed in the right home where it gets appreciated for what it is. It was also a great pleasure to have been in the room with you as you raised the paddle in the very last second before hammer went down! Hope it brings you many moments of enjoyment!

you have a loving wife, and fortunate life. That is a work of art, very nice catch, congratulations. From what I read, I wonder what if the auction keeps on going....it will be very dangerous. It seems you have no plan B when to stop. All went well, and t...
The dial is magnificent!

Huge congrats on the process to get this one. And you obviously got a tremendous deal. If Chopard hired me onto their corporate team, this would be an area I would work on. There is no reason these watches should not hold a better value. There are things ...
Well done Gordon!

Great post and thank you for the lovely photos and for sharing with us on how you became the owner of this lovely and unusual watch. Is this a piece unique or are there many more Tarzans out there?! Is the watch 40mm? You know me and size Should we ever m...
Hi Sham, we must meet in Singapore or KL with our watches !
By: GLau : December 7th, 2016-10:35
This piece is 39/40mm. Not too big for me and I have a slim wrist. Each piece of the jungle dials are individually painted by the master, hence each is unique. I have no idea how many jungles are out there and but perhaps MTF who is he moderator for chopa...
Oh nooooo!

I do not want to steal your thunder as I think one Tarzan is more than enough! I will be retiring shortly so I shall leave being Tarzan to you young and diligent people!
L.U.C XP Urushi Land-Air-Water Collection from 2010
By: MTF : December 7th, 2016-14:06
Chopard friends, In 2010, Chopard introduced the L.U.C XP Urushi Land-Air-Water Collection. It was not a limited edition but a special edition. Production is according to demand because each one is handmade. On average, maybe 25 pieces of dial may be pain...

Not a retiring piece for sure but one with so much character and presence And a very charming back story! Enjoy the Jungle and wear it in good health
Spectacular!

Both the watch AND your writeup. The passion oozes out! I love that. I have seen many Urushi Chopard pieces (well, 4 of them) and this one is easily one of the best given the "complexity" of the scene in display. A true work of art. Enjoy and I hope this ...
Arrff, bad news :-(

That\'s the main problem with auctions. You find a timepiece you really love and you exceed your budget. And when you take into account fees and VAT, sometimes you have some regrets :-( Best wishes Alkiro

Great incoming and I was pleased to be part of the enabling team with Keks! It is a fascinating piece and suits you very well. Don\'t you have too many watches now?
No worry please blame me ;-)

Huge congrats on your beautiful watch, this is not only a timepiece, it is a art with amazing craftsmanship on it. I am glad and honor of being mentioned as a part of hunting journey. In my last post of three unrishi I saw in Chopard, every of this watch ...

Overall, artistic hand made dials (enamel via cloisonné, champleve, etc and hand painted lacquer/ enamel, mini mosaic & others) captivate me very much ! Do you feel the same way? Cheers, Gordon
Very nice post and the jungle is beautiful!!

Definitely looking forward

Cant wait for the next gtg to inspect it more closely. Haha and also would be great if moderator MTF can shed light on the process of how the dial of the jungle was made.
Congratulations on bagging this trophy!

As is often the case, the pictures don't do the real thing any justice. The lacquer's luminescent sheen brings the dial's colors to life. They seem to constantly transform and shift with each tilt. You could stare at this forever! While the design is Japa...
