I've a plain Zenith Elite watch somewhere but it has a plain white lacquer dial.
I think this 36mm case is a tad small for my wrist but the 42mm is "fashionably" too big.
Now that the Age of Huge watches is over, I would venture for a classic 38 - 39mm case.
A mother-of-pearl dial can be worn by men as they were since the beginning of Time.

Did you try the 36mm on your wrist?
Of course lug size and shape dial size vs case size.. .. but 36 is often correct for men wrists and elegant watches
