A sweet ref. indeed! I took receipt of mine last month & loving it!

Re your comment:
"the chronometer function itself I’m less sure: the START is rather hard, whereas the STOP and RESET are much smoother. Not sure if one should plan on some “breaking in” time or if that is a consequence of the design/architecture? Do you happen to know if that is always so?... Also I’m not sure if the clutch is vertical or not and if one can keep it running constantly. But I really like the movement of the red second hand which brings life to the dial and hence let us run"

Mine has the same feel - a bit unsettling because what you call "smooth" I call mushy (lol). I much prefer the feel of my 1861 / 321 mvmts which have a "crisp" response for all three functions (start/ stop/ reset). I admit that it's my first 400 mvmt, so I cannot say if this is standard or not. But at least our units operate similarly.

I also like to "sync" my chronographs with real time (start @ 00:00 or 12:00) so that I can see mvmt in the dark (lumed chronog. seconds hands rock!) but as BLau noted (Brain, is that you, bro?) as well as the (Quick-) User Guide states, we shouldn't run it constantly... .

I'm considering a ladder bracelet for mine, just a bit concerned about how well the endlinks will fit. The very few pics I've seen have the end-links sticking out a bit; maybe this is normal, hard to say.

Cheers!

Had been asking your views regarding a « dressy casual » chronometer lately. Thanks to all who contributed their thoughts at the time. I finally made up my mind and just received the Zenith A386 manufacture edition last week. Herewith my first impressions...

Thanks for sharing these insightful thoughts

Beautiful watch for sure!

Something speaking for the Blue’s?

Agreed, the watch and its touch of blue is nice. If I recall correctly you also like that color scheme: I remember a earlier post of yours with a PP5130P ? I’m still under its spell and considering it 🤭

Blue is always a great option as it dresses up and down on demand :-)

Good memory about the 5130P. It is my n1 fav watch and can only recommend it. It is as sensuous as they come! All the best, Alex

Sorry to say it's a lateral clutch.

Love the color combo, too! This guy right here was my most-worn watch for several years... but I like your version better! ...

Thanks

Thanks for the information regarding lateral clutch. I guess I will just keep it running and send it to service when time comes. Life is short and to be enjoyed. Thanks for the speedy reply/info, was about to dive into the literature and look it up. I usu...

Love that response!

I was pushing the "life is too short" line the other day to someone who loves leather straps, but doesn't wear them in summer because he doesn't want to sweat them up and ruin them. Ruin away! And run that chronograph. These things are meant to serve you,...

Huge congrats 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
