Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase and Retrograde Date
Friends,
Another Vacheron Constantin I had the pleasure to take a closer look at, the Patrimony Moon Phase and Retrograde Date in Pink Gold.
I am a big fan of the Patrimony line, but here I am not sure...
The Retrograde Pointer Date dominates the dial a bit too much for my taste.
Yes, a lovely complication, and a very useful at that, but the way it's executed here I think is a bit too much.
Maybe is smaller numbers or number in lighter colours...
Maybe if only every fifth number...
I don't know, but something that would have toned it done just a bit.
Same with the Moon Phase, nice size, stunning Moon and Star heaven...
But the number of day's in the Moon Phase is, IMO, too big.
I understand that VC wanted to create balance between the upper and lower part of the dial, but I think could have been achieved in a more elegant way...
Yes, the whole point of this watch is the Retrograde Pointer Date so I guess that is the point (pun intended) of enhance it here!
On the back we have the beautiful automatic movement, Calibre 2460 R31L (Hallmark of Geneva).
The decoration of the Pink Gold rotor I find absolutely stunning!
Yes, I know, many would prefer a manual movement where its possible to see more of the movement!
But that would have required us to show more of our wallet as well...
So even if automatic movement, its hard not to admire the polish of this movement!
Best
