I recently got a silver and black VC watch as a gift from a wealthy aunt. I suspect it to be a fake, because it does not match the Pertual Calendar Chronograph (Malte model) exactly according to the VC website. I don't have access to a digital camera. Can someone help me figure out if this watch is fake?
Characteristics on the front:
1) It has three dials (day of week, day of month, moon cycle?)
2) It has 4 buttons on the right. The first adjusts day of week, the second manually adjusts time, the third one adjusts day of month, and the last one pops open the back.
Characteristics on the back:
1) Inscription on the back:
Quarts & Minutes
CHRONOGRAPHE
1OUANTIEME|PERPETUEL
Thuses Lunaires
32 Rulis
2) Once the back hinges open, there are two sides. On one side, there is a rotating disc that is almost in the shape of a semi-circle, exposing the workings of the watch. Here, the serial number is visible.
3) On the other side, is a picture of 2 women in robes looking into each other's eyes.
I almost sold this watch for $150US a couple of days ago, but decided to keep it last minute because of an intriguing detail. The second hand on the watch did not behave like a normal 60-click second hands. The prospective buyer didn't seem like it was worth much more than $150.
Thanks for your help in advance.
