I think this authentic, french work, may be Paris - the often used V&C in expensiv and high quality jewelery. This was expensiv, all parts expensiv and well done.

I think this special order from the asiatic market. It is a very nice piece from a great artist. This was not a faker. Also you can see the influence of ART DECO, this is matching with the movement and I will date this around 1920 - 1930. For me it looks good and autenthic. May be V&C knows the buyer of the movement

That engraving does not look legitimate. It’s crude and seems unlikely to have been done by VC.

I am looking forward to hearing back from them on the serial number. The number dates it to 1905-1915 if it is authentic. I agree with other responders that the etching looks "crude" but I did find other examples online from that era and the etching match...
