As the end of an era is coming to a close...
My dear Alex, dear fellow Vacheron Constantin fans,
First, my sincere apologies. As some of you might know, I have some critical personal matters to deal with, and dealing with those matters has left me with almost no time to do anything else, including "hanging out" with my online friends who have also become friends and extended family.
Alex, your friendship and unique role in our community will always occupy a special place in the history of ThePuristS. Afterall, there is only one "first" (no matter how many times the watch industry marketing machines may try to change that immutable fact! ;-)
I am looking forward to your continued membership and participation in our humble community, and know you will be very successful in the next step in your own, personal "horological journey."
Fellow VC fans, as sad as I am at the decision of Alex to "pass on the baton" I am also proud to be able to call friend someone who has the honor and "purity" to know when to step aside, to make way for another "rising star."
Know that I and the entire PuristS' team are firmly committed to what has been started here, and in fact, our community is more vibrant and ever growing than ever before.
To all you old timers and long time stalwarts, I am counting on you to help keep this place "rockin' and rollin' - finding a new moderator to fill Alex' big shoes and long shadow will not be easy, and I'm sure you know we don't take moderatorship lightly.
VC has been around for 250 years; my first "serious" watch was a VC just about 30 years ago, and I'm expecting our VC forum on PuristSPro will be around for at least as long, when our beloved timepieces will be timing the flights to distant planets and the internet will not only span the planet earth, but entire solar systems, and PuristS will still be bound together by a common love for beauty and craft, and respect for civility.
