What to see in Germany?

Nov 14, 2015,20:06 PM

It looks like we'll be in Germany for a bit in December, Frankfurt/Cologne/Aachen for a bit and then over to Berlin (possibly Dresden).  Any suggestions, especialy and restaurants we should be sure to not miss?

Some basics

If you still have the choice, definitely include Dresden in your itinerary. It has been restored close to its pre-war glory and is probably amongst the most impressive cities in Germany. It has the added benefit of being a stone\'s throw away from Glashüt...

Sorry, have to disagree on Frankfurt

Frankfurt is often seen as boring, ugly … but if you explore it, it is one the nicest cities in Germany

I like the people and am sure it is a very pleasant place to live. Just not sure how much it offers from a \'sightseeing perspective\'. But always eager to learn more, so suggestions are welcome!

Here we agree

Better for living than sightseeing

If it is not too nosy

Do you live there? Spent three years in Hannover, which is also supremely comfortable but not much to write home about from a sightseeing point of view

You're welcome to ask

I used to live in Frankfurt when I started my first job, quite some time ago and I loved it. I still go there regularly,

Dresden is on the list...

as a daytrip from Berlin. I want to see the Green Room and the Cathedral. Frankfurt is there mostly as an airport and since SFWIBW was born there, she wants to at least see it thanks A

Two suggestions

I don't know much about Cologne, but know my way around in Frankfurt and Berlin. I don't think I have to tell you on "what to see", there are plenty of guides and it depends on what's your interest. I can suggest two restaurants: Frankfurt: The Goldman Re...

Nice :)

While not visiting either imminently, the advice is much appreciated! Thanks
