The elderly man in the photo is the founder of Aikido. Art of Harmony. Kind of popularized by Steven Segal... Unfortunately Steven made it much more violent for the movies. Ueshiba was small in stature but big in the impact of martial arts. He took a harsh form of Daitoryu Aikijujitsu and turned it into a more graceful yet an effective art.
