TAG Heuer Announces Two New Special Edition Pieces for Manchester United Soccer Team

Last night, TAG Heuer unveiled two special edition watches to celebrate their third season as the Official Timekeeper of the iconic Manchester United soccer team. To commemorate the launch, soccer legends Peter Schmeichel and Denis Irwin gathered with guests at the TAG Heuer boutique in the Aventura Mall  

Irwin and Schmeichel challenged VIP guests to test their #DontCrackUnderPressure mentality in intense games of foosball. During the event, both legends also signed soccer balls, jerseys and hosted a meet and greet.

“We are honored to be in the presence of such great athletes for the launch of our special editions inspired by the Manchester United team,” stated Kilian Muller, CEO of TAG Heuer North America. “Soccer has such a passionate and growing fan base in the U.S., it is truly inspiring to be associate with the sport at this moment in time.”

The first model released by TAG Heuer will be the TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 adorned in the team’s colors of red and white. The striking red of Manchester United takes center stage, featuring the club's logo positioned on the 9 o'clock flange with 60-second scale and the TAG Heuer shield on the bezel at 12 o'clock mark. The hour, minute and chronograph central seconds hands and rubber strap, all sport the club's iconic signature color. The sapphire case-back highlights the famous Manchester United red devil decal logo. The watch’s coal-colored skeleton dial, set within a sporty red flange, allows the beautiful mechanism of the Heuer-01 Manufacture Chronograph to be admired. 

The second model is a TAG Heuer Formula 1 chronograph. Made entirely from steel, this quartz chronograph features a notched steel bezel with a tachymeter scale. The Arabic numeral 12, in red lacquer and located at 12 o’clock, contrasts with the opaline anthracite dial, echoing the colors of Manchester United. The Manchester United logo positioned on the counter at 6 o’clock is prominently displayed on the dial. This model is available with a perforated black rubber strap, offering a more contemporary look than ever before.

In the U.S., TAG Heuer is also the Official Watch and Official Timekeeper of Major League Soccer and of the Professional Referees Organization, in addition to the Official Timekeeper of the U.S. Soccer Federation, a continuation of the landmark partnership that was announced in 2016 and solidified TAG Heuer as one of the leading sponsors of soccer in the United States.

On Wednesday, August 1^st, TAG Heuer will kick off the Major League Soccer All-Star Game in Atlanta by hosting a unique activation in which fans vote for the #DontCrackUnderPressure Top Play of the first half of the MLS Season. Before the match begins, fans will have the opportunity to vote at Soccer Celebration and during the first half of the match via in-stadium texting. The winner will be announced at half time and win an all-expenses paid trip to the MLS Cup in December.
