Seiko Sunrise Sessions

We rose before dawn, one of us more excited than the other, I might add -- and headed North to Kate Sessions Park Trail. Neither of us had been there before.

The moon (just beginning to wane) was bright in the western sky

Sorry, blurry in the low light

Wow! What a vista here -- the hills on the left are in Mexico about 40 miles away.

The ground is carpeted in tiny lichens or some sort of plant life.

Most of the areas we've been walking for the last month are right down there!

An even wider view

My house is somewhere underneath that airplane; the first flight heading out today.

Obligatory "make the wife happy" photo.

I took 5 separate hand-held photos at 1/16,000th and stacked them in Photoshop with no other correction.

Other people just avoid thechnology and stack rocks ...

First time I've seen this sort of cactus.

Same as yesterday, one side of the canyon is lush and the other dry. Plant life almost completely different side-to-side.

Only the odd dog walker (male) and loud talker (female) are out and about on this early morning.

Cyclist is appreciating the view; walker is texting.

Is it really almost winter? (My wife thinks so)

Shy bunny

Probably our fearless leader Bill out there for some time on the water.

Back to the car with a special photo of the Seiko watch for today.

This is a Seiko Perpetual Calendar titanium watch that I've had since 2000. It's been out of action for years but I fixed it yesterday so I could get another day of walking!

The lithium 5-year battery was dead, the calendar needed to be reset (both accomplished) and the rotted rubber strap was unfixable. Just before I cut up a good diver strap, I realized I could fold over a NATO/Velco strap, insert the pins and get it back in action.

PS - I hope you guys are appreciating these walks as much as I am. If so, wear your SEIKOs (and tell us about it)
