GS follows Tanaka's Grammar of Design
Grand Seiko follows Tanaka's Grammar of Design, which calls for perfectly flat polished surfaces, high contrast between different parts of the case, Zaratsu polishing, etc. That makes it hard to create a tank watch. You are more likely to see tank watches in regular Seiko. Credor could do it also because they are not tied to Grammar of Design.
