Grand Seiko Star is in the neighborhood

Today I wore my second High-Accuracy Quartz Grand Seiko. It's rated at better than 10 seconds per year accuracy, which is ridiculously accurate by any standard. The special models are denoted by a gold or silver star on the dial above the 6.

We enjoyed a phenomenal light show this morning, as high clouds gave the sun something to reflect upon...

We decided to walk the Vermont Street bridge today and get that 7-Bridge walk (mentioned in an earlier post) completed, one day at a time. Heading south.

Honeybee is working the early shift ... normally they aren't out til it warms up a bit.

There was a nice variety of gardens on the small houses in this 100-year-old neighborhood

I love these cactus.

The only wildlife we saw today was in this Bourgainvillea.

My guess is they were looking at this house too, as we were shaking our heads and wondering "Why?"

Even their mailbox! All this provided by round stones in concrete, a style also favored by my step-father (hence I learned how to do our back yard walls this way too)

My pal Malcolm used to live in this house, decades ago. We went to a Boxing Day party (back when crowds were allowed to share a single dwelling for the evening). After a few rounds (Malcolm was a Scot) his cat came in. Just like in the cartoons, he jumped up on the living room table with a huge mouse. Alive! He dropped it. Terrified, the mouse and guests all ran around the room screaming until the mouse fell down the stairway and disappeared. An hour later it reappeared and by then slightly more Scotched up, we attacked him with brooms and drove it into the kitchen, where it ran under the stove, never to appear again.
