New to me Alpinist SJE085
This tribute to 1959 Alpinist spoke to me since day 1. Finally the right opportunity presented itself, and I have been very happy with it in the collection.
36mm wears really well, and has inspired me to look for other pieces in that size. I can't stress how the date is almost invisible from any 'real life' viewing distance. Perfect? No, but the passion is strong with this one.
I put it on an Artisan strap, as the stock one was very long for me.

Perfect combo!
The strap does wonders, Question for you: In the photo the dial appears to have a kind of crosshatching in the black areas, almost the way meteorite dials can have. I assume that is just a trick of the light?
