Rather sadly I've been distracted by your shots of birds. The bird was a (pretty certain) a Killdeer, only ever seen one - in Norfolk about 20 years ago & yes it shouldn't really have been there!





From a book on shorebird (wader) ID. If you think the discussion about watches here can focus on the minutiae, you've never heard birders discussing rare bird ID, primary projection and tertial fringing only the start of it! 🙄 Thanks for another photo essay. Cheers JML

I've been pondering where to walk today; I had a place in mind then realized due to its topography I wouldn't have good light - it's better there in the afternoon. So we went to a new spot UP the river from our previous walks. The sun is just coming over ...
