basic, simple, big and clumsy but COOL!

Some months ago in my favorite magazine (OCTANE Nov. 2020) I read about the Seiko SDGA001 EPD (electrophoretic display) watch that Seiko introduced at Basel in 2010. Fascinated by the story, I set out to find one. However, it proved not to be real easy. There were no more new ones around, many searches led into dead ends and sellers on ebay knew what they had and were in far-away lands. But recently I stumbed upon one locally for sale by the original owner who had acquired it in 2013, 3 years after the introduction, for 50 % off list price(original invoice included). Similar to the first Rolex that I bought in 1974, a pre-daytona chrono, nobody wanted one and thus they were selling it with considerable discounts.

So here it is, huge on the wrist, no chronograph but no battery to charge since solar powered. Accurate as any watch could be... It'll be my watch to wear when I am too scared to put one a real one - in the dark alleys of city areas that they suggest you never visit as a tourist etc...

Cheers from Old Europe
