7924: The Number of the Beast

Over the past years, I have been able to source a few French military diver's watches from the late 1950's that were still in the drawer of retired watchmakers: Rolex, Tudor, Blancpain,... In these early days of SCUBA diving, most of these watches were us...

What an extraordinary example, Jeff !

I really like what you do with the strap combinations on some of these watches. Works well. Remarkably good condition for its age, and i guess more specifically teh nature of the watch.

Basically, I like brown leather straps...

but I have found that the hardest watch to dress that way is the PN Daytona: nothing better than the Oyster bracelet on this one. Cheers Jeff

Really....

I was wondering whether black leather with some white stiching might work. I might experiment....

Here's my dark brown experiment...

Jeff, hard to tell the difference between dark brown and black in that photo. Looks great though. I definitely love the white stitching, but wonder how a black leather strap would look. I will try next week.

I love the Paul Newman with stainless steel bezel..
