SIHH 2017: Richard Mille Live Pics

Jan 18, 2017,05:28 AM

As Mark has reported the novelty of Richard Mille this year, the highlight is RM50-03.  Please read his detailed post.

www.watchprosite.com

While I can't give more detailed analysis or review of 50-03 than Mark has done, I would like to post the live pics of the booth and the RM50-03, with other novelties.

Here you go!

The ACTUAL F1 machine which ran 2016 Season.  Gotta say - Do better this year, HONDA!  You were GREAT the last time you were in the game!

Surely a tight relationship between McLaren and Richard Mille.

This book tells you all about RM 50-03.....  Highly technical, I say.

And this is the live photo of RM 50-03.  Sorry for poor quality pics due to challenging light situation.... :-(

Look at this complicated dense movement for the double split function - but can you believe that the weight of this movement is just 7g????

RM 011-03 Blue Quartz TPT

RM 17-01 Tourbillon

McLaren car (model in the display box smile)

RM 61-01: To my taste, much nicer, more "gentle" color version smile

RM 50-03 is certainly a big surprise - you have to handle it to feel the weight.

The composite is actually used in the F1 machine, so it is the result of collaboration with McLaren.  It is actually used in the F1 machine, but it is never disclosed "where in the machine".
In any case, great invention by the great hand-shake with another great technological/ sports manufacturer.

Congrats, Richard Mille!

Best,
Ken

RM017-01?

 By: colton_d : January 18th, 2017-07:28
Hi Ken, Thank you for the live pics, looks like an exceptional booth! Can you give more details on the 17-01? I thought the RM017 was the extra thin tourbillon in rectangular case? This looks like a hybrid of the 038, the 021 and the 014 Perini. Is this a...

In fact Colton it is the RM017 Extra Flat Tourbillon's movement that seems to be put in the RM067's case style (thinner tonneau shape, white ceramic). It is a new reference but I don't have the info yet, certainly later. Maybe Ken will have some if he fin...

Wow!!!!

That is amazing, thank you for the explanation and context Mark. To me, this is nearly as exciting as the 50-03. I really enjoy the 067, and the movement here looks very captivating. Very logical move to combine the two and have a tonneau shaped extra thi...

You're welcome Colton :)

I like the RM067 very much too. I could try the rose gold version not long ago and will make a small review. It seems indeed that they are going to use that new case proportion a little more. Just a guess but this is something I like too Best, Mark

I don't know for the strap's size

By: Mark in Paris : January 22nd, 2017-07:11
as I couldn't see the watch already. In fact, the aim was to provide a thinner Tourbillon as the square RM017 provided already, but in the Tonneau-shaped case. The RM67-01 had already opened the way and it was logical to go that way for RM. However, I don...

i dont know but my gut feeling is that it is an RM10 case with lower caseband , UPDATE

just checked the website and the strap of the 67-01 is designated as 67-01 where as the the 17-01 has a strap of 10L which is the one used on both the RM10 and 29

Thank you for sharing your search

You may be right indeed from their reference I've just checked on pics. Good point. I imagine it may be more a question of height of the case where the strap is attached than a question of width (just a thought, not an assertion). We'll know when the tech...

According to Richard Mille Ginza Boutique website....

"ATZ White Ceramic bezel is very hard (1400 Vickers Scale) and known to be resistant to color degradation. The hardness, second to diamond fits the bezel material." So, I guess the movement was cased in the ATZ white ceramic case. Ken

Highly impressive....

watch for the McLaren collaboration, I love the carbon case, however the overall design of the movement front and back is simply way too much for my tastes. I sincerely hope the products resulting from the Aston Martin collaboration will turn out far more...

Great report on RM Ken

I took time to have a look at these. The RM050-03 is really comething and far more than a simple watch put in a crabon case. There is absolutely no compromise to this watch. The work and engineering required in order to get a 7 grams Split and Tourbillon ...

Awesome! I always thought the 17 missed the attention it deserved.. Glad to see the..

Movement back, and in a more RM traditional case. Don't know why the 17 never was a fav among RM collectors, the crown always looked out of place but a beautiful watch none the less. Thanks for posting

You know, when dealing with shaped cases (coussin, square etc...)

By: Mark in Paris : January 25th, 2017-08:15
It is always something that will attract a smaller part of the potential clients. Especially with RM as the tonneau shape is their "root" design. I saw the RM17 in the Parisian boutique and it was so much more appealing than on pictures. You're so right! ...
