lien, I understand your feelings about the words around the rim. Again, Piaget spent a long time discussing this. Obviously, the regular Altiplano 43 mm automatic does not have the words; they kept to the original words on the original watch. (see another... 

Hi MTF, i see where u r going and i have always feel anniversary lines could use a bit more "magic" than simple wordings on the dial or case... as it get celebrated every decade, there must be some treatment that can mark any advancement of watchmaking in... 

Sadly, I'm less convinced for the moment by the dials. Why do they need to write "automatic" on the dial ? This word is useless and the dials would be better without IMHO or at least, written with a more discrete style like it was in the past. I need to s... 

FrX, Ah...but this topic already caused sleepless nights at Piaget in the design phase. In the end, they followed tradition from the end of the Golden Age of watches. An automatic movement was respected in those days as it was new technology. Particularly...  

Is it too early to write to santa? A stunning piece but did they really need to put an essay of the dial of the anniversary model? Even putting 'automatic' on the dial of the regular model really distracts from the elegance of the piece. If they could rem... 

the reasons for the traditional 'Automatic' printed on the regular dial and the commemorative words on the Ltd Edn dial. To have a 2.35 mm thin manual movement is remarkable. To have an automatic movement only 2.35 mm and working reliably for modern man a... 

but i prefer the manual model with cal. 1200p, may be because the case size is relatively smaller compare with 1208P that can fit better for my small wrist. somehow i also the off-center seconds sub-dial at 4 o'clock position. for the casing, i black dial... 

Stefan, The 1200P family are automatic movements encased in 43 mm Altiplano, currently. If you like the 38 or 40 mm Altiplano, with manual wind movement 430P, they are regular production Altiplano and Altiplano XL respectively. I like the 38 and 40 mm ult... 

hi Melvin, thanks for correcting that. 1200p should be automatic movement as well. i don't think i can stand for 43mm case on my wrist. 38mm probably is the limit for me. but when try it on the wrist, mindset could be changed, who knows LOL!! stefan

I think we only differ upon one point. My favorite of this bunch is most certainly the 43 mm Altiplano with subseconds at 4 o'clock. In WG it is a swoon-worthy piece! Thanks for the excellent write-up! Cheers, Daos
