German Silver ... remontage ... yes I am posting to the right forum ...
... as I learned today that the great 5959 from Patek has got a German Silver plate and that the bridges are also made from German Silver.
Furthermore, the movement is assembled twice too.
These are actually features that we know from Lange and I wonder if someone can confirm this or if someone knows of further movements from
Patek with these properties.

Hi, German Silver is not a specifically German feature. In French (and in Switzerland) it is called Maillechort and is used by many brands. I know that JLC uses it for the Duometre series for example. I would not be surprised to see it used by PP. Regardi...

I've been told that the 5959 is more difficult to build than any other complication including the sky moon, 5016, or any of the repeaters. Perhaps that's why they only make 10 per year (if they even make that many). Don't know if this is true so discussio...
