Thanks so much for sharing. That is quite a collection. Can anyone tell me if there are any significant differences between the 3800 and 5800?

Lets start with case design, older version, the sides are straight, new version is curved, then the thickness, the luminous dial for older version is thinner, the luminous of the hands for older version, also thinner, modern version is thicker, bracelet f... 

I did a review about the watch a little while ago I pasted it below if you haven't seen it before. I think the fatter stick markers, extra 1mm in size plus the open back makes a real difference and was the reason I went with the 5800 rather than the 3800 ...

The fun thing about 3800 it came it various dials, various metals, whereas, 5800 is a replica of 5711, slightly thicker than a 3800, with a curved outer case for 5800 vs the straight case for 3800. 5800 was produced within two years, patek decides to cut ... 

latterly being attracted to the nautilus but am a bit confused as to the variety available. is the size of case the only difference between the 3800,the 5899 and the 5711? what about the movement?will graetly appreciate your input. best henry

I used to own a 3800 and I ended up trading it for a 5711 about 3 weeks after I bought it. The 3800 is a great watch but it is very small by today's standards. The price, however, is appealing considering that it's a lot cheaper than the 5800 or 5711. Per... 

At least that narrowed down the choice. So its now 3800 or 5711. I guess Ill just have to try the actual watches so I can decide which size would be sufficient for my wrist. Thanks for the insights

then go with 5711, cause that is probably what most people will go for. Because i am not a very large & tall person, 3800 somehow fits comfortably on my wrist. Later, i will post some pics of my 3800 & 5800 . Do shop around, you might find, 5800 is the le... 

Thanks. It would be a lot of help if you could post some pics of your 3800 or 5800. Specially the wrist shots. Im also a not so tall and big person. With panerais I use 40mm since the 44 is too big for my wrist. Cheers

My wrist is about 6 inches and here are two wrist shots. One is the 5711 and the other is of my old 3800. 5711 3800 Hope this helps. GC...
