That comment about the wife...
is particularly apt. All decisions of this sort should be subject to approval or veto power by the wife. Of course, it might not hurt to pick her up a nice pair of shoes, handbag, or some expensive perfume to help close the deal...she'll see right through that gambit, but will appreciate the effort.
