While I have the same feeling that 30m should be enough… if the watch could TRULY withstand the pressure when a watch is submerged below 30m to prevent water ingress; we should be fine for washing hands and rain.

However the humidity and raised temperature of a shower mixed with soap altering surface tension of the water… yeah that is a game changer with regards to “water resistance”…. agreed I am not showering with my watches; especially those designated for 30m.

A friend had a 30m watch serviced one year after ownership just by taking it into the shower by mistake. Many on the forums can attest to the same. 50m would probably be safe, 100m would add a sense of security and increase the overall enjoyability of own...
