The reference you choose (I'm not sure if you're more after the 4858 or 4958, that's very close) is a true mechanical watch, and a nicely complicated one.
I'm not a woman myself and quite logically I'm not tempted by your choice, but it seems to be a good start up piece as what countsmainly is if you like it!
Regarding gold colour it is too much of a personal preference to give you any advice! Sorry!
