1. considering having it serviced is not a bad idea, just for peace of mind. You mention Stern Agency; if that means you are in the US, the NYC service ops are among the very best anywhere. Speak to the service director (tell him hi from Thomas and ThePuristS for me) and ask him about the case polish. He'll make it very clear what the options are. 

2. Ask Mr. Jarrett about the strap; he should be able to give you a definitive answer. I am guessing it should be no problem.

3. Ask him about registration of the watch and getting on the mailing list for the magazine. He should also be able to answer that question, but if not, repost and the moderator or I will try to check with PP HQ in Geneva for you.
