PS: I checked: I saw it existed in white gold. Not sure there was a platinum version.

I think for its size yellow/rose gives it some punch on the wrist.

Yes, I totally agree. The colored gold is a good choice, here. Except if they opted for a black dial on the white gold... Which is not the case.
