Patek Philippe

Decided to pull the macro lens out for a few photos, please excuse the dust! Hope you enjoy ...  

There are a lot of different ways one might say, "Patek is the best" but this watch surely represents one of them. So much confident finesse in what is intended to be a bread-and-butter everyday watch.

Always a good way to start the day

ever made. Such style for a Calatrava. The sculpted crown guards, the proportion of the flat wide bezel. So much character for a three hand watch. Elegant. The most versatile Patek. Outshines most all “regular” Calatravas. Beautiful photos. Thank you. And... 

The proportions are very dialled, I particularly appreciate the sharp slope and edge of the lugs and how the tapering talks with the crown guards.

I wonder if there is a technical reason for the reduction in quantity over the years? This one operates with an average time keeping daily accuracy of +1spd

I assume the transition to a four rather than a two spoke balance wheel and a higher beat rate made more weights unnecessary and, since not needed, may introduce a chance for more error/variability.

I had initially tried to do this a few months ago but I don’t think I had the lighting quite right. I don’t have a macro rail and the setup is improvised so it’s very difficult to nail a shot.

macro shots ! How many times for the magnification ?

It’s with an artisan and artist 60mm 2x 2.8 macro on a Sony A7C full frame camera. Amazing what a few hundred will buy nowadays in terms of camera kit.
