The Pagoda
Created in 1997 to commemorate the inauguration of the new Patek Philippe manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, the Pagoda ref. 5500 came with a commemorative silver medal and a nice box (see below), and was a limited edition composed of:
- 1.100 pieces in 18K yellow gold (with gold dial)
- 500 in 18K rose gold (with silvered dial)
- 250 in 18K white gold (with salmon dial)
- 150 in platinum (with black dial).
Some part of me finds it a bit quirky, the other part loves it.

Yes, because it resembles almost exactly ref 2441
called the Eiffel Tower. Like the Pagoda very much.
Yes, case wise the "Pagoda" seems identical to the "Eiffel Tower".

I have always found the Pagoda a very intersting, unique and fun watch in its own quirky look with the "feet" (as I call them). It's a great looking watch in all its metal variations. In particular, I like the RG and YG. It will be fun to own one, one day...
Definitely quirky! But charming too, yes.
I think I personally like the yellow gold more than the other variants, even the rose gold.

Among the two white metal models, I think I would pick the pt.

Yes, the 5100 has a lot for itself.
But its caliber, despite its wonderful architecture, has no sharp inward angles and the Pagoda still has a lot of charm, imo.
