Or maybe he spent months painstakingly researching watches. Wikipedia says that he was earning $1 million USD annually in the early 2000's, as a lawyer in private practice, so a $40,000 watch would be pretty inconsequential. But I'm just as curious as others are to learn more facts about whether he actually does have some demonstrated horological interest!
