Thanks for your comments Eric09.  I agree with everything that you say, and I'd certainly like to think that this watch can be passed on to my future generations.  The watch that I've been offered doesn't have the box, but has the original papers.  Do you think that this makes the watch any less attractive in terms of value?  In the unfortunate event that I need to sell it in the future do you think the value will be adversely impacted compared to the same reference watch with a box?  I've done a bit of research on the auction houses here in the UK and it seems that every watch has a story, and sometimes that, along with the papers and box, makes the watch that little bit more attractive.  I'm worried that, by not having the box, I'm not buying the whole picture.  All comments welcome.
