Patek Philippe

Just change the strap to a bit lighter and warmer. Do you all prefer a black strap on this or a brown strap? I can't really decide. Anyone know what kind of straps were used during the vintage era ? Were they usually matt or glossy? round scale? I am tryi...  

your watch will look great in any strap! I have a vintage Patek which has a glossy strap in black so that is probably the preferred combination. A very nice watch that you have CL!

and brown with white metal seems a bit more 'everyday'. Glossy black can be interesting and safe. I should seriously consider that When a watch is this simple, we fuss about the strap...haha Thanks Sham.

Brown will always be accused of being more casual but that dial in a way is anything but casual! It has a lot of class and is discreetly elegant!!

and Joe's suggestion fora navy blue strap is also very good. You see with your lovely white metal watch you have the advantage of fitting many types of colours on it but I would recommend a dark colour.

Would you suggest a navy blue with round scale or normal scale? Why Navy Blue? I did think about Navy Blue strap before but I didn't do it because the other watch I have, Credor Eichi 2 , is a very nice Navy Blue strap.

that blue /white is nice. I have that on my credor , which is also a platinum. I think that's the only reason I try to avoid the blue.

Your image of the Cartier shows the thing that bugs me. The rectangular scale's horizontal lines are distracting to my eyes. I am looking for something vintage looking, like those straps used in the old Patek. I wonder anyone know where to find these NOS ...

it's better to look at straps than look at watches :P

The black glossy strap would be the classical option for the classical elegant gentleman taking no risk. But if I were in your shoes (depending on your style and taste) I would not hesitate one second and go for a marine blue strap with large rectangular ... 

I think I am going to bring the photo above to Jean Rousse and see if tehy know what kind of strap was that. I love those original Patek strap in the 50s,60s.
