Patek Philippe

I'm split between these two watches. I'm wondering which watch fellow purists will prefer and why? I have been looking for a rectangular watch and I kind of narrow it down to these two pieces. I do love the 5101P but I already have a tourbillon, so it's g... 

Since I have never seen the5100 but as you know I have the 5105 and am really happy with it Largish case (46mm ) Legible dial great design Lovely case back with the 9-90 What’s not to love They do come up at auction occasionally and I suspect private sale...  

So discreet and conceptually interesting.

I have never thought of that before because I was intrigued by the approach of 5105P and its 9-90 movement and totally forget that 5100 movement is from scratch. DO you know if 5100 movement the last real rectangular movement of Patek, up till now? Is it ...

original LE ! The 5100G is nice but the heft of the P is excellent ! Pricing aside , you should also consider the 5100P for various other reasons. Cheers, Gordon

only reason I didn't consider 5100P is because I'm not exactly into black dial.

The 5105P looks promising

Comparing this 5105P to a vintage Patek, what makes the new one special? They had made so many 9-90 movements and if one finds it desirable, they can always seek the vintage pieces. Is there something about this that makes it even more desirable? I know y... 

I love the platinum case I love the display back The dial design is also wonderful and since I collect 9-90 movements I thought this would make a great addition to my collection J

I just realize that a platinum case vintage piece can be REALLY expensive, plus you can't see the movement.

Slightly dirty but you can definitely appreciate the movement ...  

5100P's black dial is not my thing.

The movement is amazing, the dial is "deep" and great plus the case design is unique. I took black for two reasons: I always prefer platinum to WG and blue dials are too common, even fashionable. Black can take the time. Best, Kari

As for black dial, it's just me. I think they look great but just doesn't quite fit me. I don't even wear black attire because of that. Blue is probably the new Black, I don't think they are fashionable
