Still Unpolished After All These Years: My 3941J Survived 1987, Me, and Every Polish Temptation

Just wanted to share some thoughts and feelings about a watch that continues to win my heart, decades after its debut - the Patek Philippe 3941J with that stunning opaline dial. I picked up my example all the way back in 1987, and every time I wear it, the magic is still there.

The 3941J is seriously special. The reference always sparkles with elegance and subtlety - thin, balanced, and distinctly “Patek” in every way. What makes the 3941 unique is that exhibition caseback, introduced for a brief production run before being discontinued in 1990. Fewer than 40 known examples exist, making it a bit of a unicorn for collectors.
