I would argue that one can order a new bracelet in case the original one is broken or simply lost.
After all it’s just a single part.
If so, you could simply order such a bracelet, pick it up and if the AD reuses to connect it to the watch, I’m sure there are plenty watchmakers capable of changing a strap.
This all under the assumptions that size, width, connection points and method size of screws etc what have you, are identical.
Hence I see no real problems in fitting your watch with a bracelet either with or without Patek.
However when it comes to changing the official reference of your specific watch now to indicate it’s got a bracelet, the answer is short two words only: “forget it”
They will never do that.

I am thinking of buying a bracelet for my watch that I’ll use during summer. It would increase the lifespan of the leather strap as well. Will Patek supply me one if I want to purchase or they don’t oblige as it would change the model number for them? ...

The finishing of the bracelet version of the 5146 is different at the 12 and 6 o’clock sides which allow the bracelet to fit flush to the case.
