Sorry to hear that! Don't feel stupid or anything of that sort -- these things can happen to anyone, and the important thing is your watch WILL get back to normal ;-)

I'm no watchmaker, and I'd advise you to wait on those at HSWA to see our watch and offer you the best course of action, before turning to anyone else, including independent labs. In the very worst case scenario (but it's likely not that serious of an issue, if I understand correctly), they can replace the whole case for you. So rest assured your problem will be solved in the end
Frankly, if it were me, I wouldn't even bother for the time being, and just wait for the first service time before getting this done....but if the issue is more visible in person than from the pictures and this gives you piece of mind, I'm sure HSWA will be able to help ;-)
