Let's be clear, I am not a colored gold fan, and I will not probably be. But sometimes, there are watches which make you doubt. This 5070J, recently auctioned by Antiquorum, shows all its powerful charm. Vintage collectors will certainly call that a gilt ...

I always considered the combination of yellow or rose gold with a black dial appropriate primarily for pimps, rappers, and international soccer players, but pp indeed managed to render this slightly 'precarious' combination tasteful.

Very nice pic but the watch itself is stunning. Same combo as for the Datograph which btw is also very nice in this version, but the 5070 has a more vintage look and it is extremely charming ! It certainly deserves to be tried in flesh and in metal! I'm s...

Especially with chronographs I think it is a winner. But it can look "expensive" and that can be toned down with a brown strap instead of black. I think it then looks a bit more sporty without losing its elegance. This Patek is a beauty.

.......all so different. The WG is, for me, the most conservative of the four. It is the most discrete. I could see myself wearing this for business. The YG is, for me, the most extroverted. It is a watch that calls to be seen....I could not wear it casua... 

....but I think the 5070P and 5070G can be paired more easily......the 5070J and 5070Y also paired more easily

But there must be limits. I wanted to get one "full set" and I considered both 5070 and 5110. The price difference (I had both in P) was in the region of € 160k - enough to educate one child. So I went for 5110 and no regrets. Dreaming does not cost anyth... 

I think the g or p are still the most elegant I passed on the j as it is a bit "loud" Now I am think of passing on the g and looking up the food chain thanks to a certain English collector. Julian
