Patek Philippe

Not a lot of talk about Patek's Pilot offerings

My buddy is interested in AP Offshore Chronos (43mm) and tried several on with me last weekend at the AP boutique in Doha.  Then we walked across the hall to Patek and he immediately tried on the chunkiest piece available on display which was the 5924G-010.  The Patek was a 42mm and he was surprised how much he liked it.  It had the weight/heft but a smoother chunkiness and generally more polished and formal appearance compared to the industrial AP Offshore Chrono.  Comparing dials of the two - the AP Offshore is more of a feast for the eyes if you're looking for in-your-face masculine, rugged sportiness.  While the Patek Pilot Chrono was a quieter more tailored version of those aspects.  He was quite confused as to which he preferred because his pre-conceived notion was that Patek would be too elegant, thin and dressy.

I took photos of both on his wrist and when he goes back and looks at them he was quite surprised at how much the Patek Pilot was keeping his interest!  Very glad that Patek offers this chunky beauty!

Best,
Robert
