My pick would be Patek 5196 pt ...
I like this model for its two tone dial, also for its history, as this patek model came from a previous model patek 570, this vintage model came also with breguet numerals, two tone dial right around the breguet index, and this particular vintage piece is currently sitting inside Patek Museum.
Personally, i think an un-obstructed dial " no date window" enhances the overall of the time piece, a small opening to ME is just not as perfect. But afterall, both pieces are in platinum, so you cant go really that wrong.
Calatrava truly represents Patek, and breguet numerals just make this model even more attractive, i wish this particular model can come with both a sapphire and solid back. That would complete it ...

Hi, As you pointed out already 5107 might be harder to get than the other piece,therefore in my opinion get the 5107 first. The 5196 may come later cause it is more easier to get if you feel there is need. Personnally,i adore the 5107 more. Thanks. regard...
5107 question
My understanding is that this model is no longer in production, having been replaced by the 5127. Is that so? If it is, are there any ADs that still carry it, or can one find it only on the secondary market? Thanks. - Jon
5196 hands down
photos of the 5196 are still nothing compared to seeing one and wearing it. Mine is saved for special occasions where I need a bit of "pop' on my wrist. the history is there and it is just awesome! it's a great piece you couldn't go wrong. p
