Hi,
This is my first posting to this website, this is my story of my
love-affair with Patek and my Ref 2555.
My grandfather was a collecter and collected some beautiful
watches in his lifetime. Most of these he sold, but he also
wanted each of his 4 grandchildren to have a Patek Philippe
watch, and thats how I got mine. I also got another one from
my Mom, which she had gotten from my grandfather too.
For more than 10 years these watches gathered dust, since I
had no interest in them. Then around 6 - 8 months ago I
suddenly started reading about these watches, and my interest
was awakened, then I saw some of the postings on this forum
and seeing how passionate people are about their Patek's
suddenly made me proud to own these watches.
I sent both my watches to Patek Geneva to service/restore, and
I just got one back.
It has a new strap and buckle else all is original. Patek has
done a wonderful job on this watch, I just cant take my eyes
off it.
It is a Ref 2555, with center sweep seconds, it is waterproof
and has a screwed back case. It was made somewhere between
1955 and 1060. I guess it was probably retailed by
Favre-Leuba?? (I think, hence the Favre-Leuba name on the dial)
There may be nothing special about this watch, but to me it is
the most beautiful thing in my posession. One day it will be
my sons, I hope he will love the watch as much as I do.
If you are interested, the scans of the watch are at -
