A lot has been discussed about this 5960.

Even since the release in 2014 for the /1A version, there are many complaints about the shiny 5 link bracelets and even threads to discuss how to swap into the leather strap version, particularly by a big collector and 5960/1A strap pioneer who seems no longer with our forum (Dr.kol)

Then came the black dial version in 2017 and it triggered my desire again but still held back due to bracelet.

In the end, I chose the 5960P-001 which comes standard with leather and I’m happy but this 5960/1A-010 kept haunting me and it becomes unreachable.

Recently as we know, and good for us who can wait, things settled a bit so I felt it’s time to take the plunge….not sure if I dive into the deep end or catch a falling knife but I don’t want to worry too much.

I am very selective with my watch funds (limited, lol) and I typically buy brand new at retail from ADs or boutiques. For discontinued pieces, I usually wait to hunt for the nice deals but this is the first time I am loosing my sanity by getting something way over retail. What to do about this for discontinued pieces, right?

Anyways, I am very, very happy and felt a void has been filled, contented and now I’m going to enjoy it fully.

My 5960P-001 was from 2009 with Geneva seal and is in the spa now, all dried movement so will take a while before this later Gen with PP seal can meet its ancestor, the first version.

I think the bracelet and the whole ensemble just works, and this 5960A is in a fine class within the PP classics. Huge congratulations and looking forward to a photo next to its brother in the near future!

A nice change and variety to the famous Nautilus bracelets…

But I think it wears very nice and comfortable, not need to worry about hairline scratches since it is shiny.

Unfortunately, sometimes we have to pay up although we would rather not to for certain things we desire. Been there done that, although I would have preferred not to. Enjoy it in the best of health.

There is always a first for many things. Maybe a lesson learned not to wait when we like a watch but today’s situation becomes tricky….they don’t have watches for us to buy, lol….or bundles which I am not playing the game. With that, now I fully understoo...

At least it seems like things are beginning to cool down a bit, so hopefully the speculators exit the scene and things can begin to regain normalcy. I'm also exhausted with ridiculous second hand prices on cars and watches. But like you, I was not immune ...

Hopefully ADs will start to remember and realize who are the real customers.

Problem is: I'm not sure I will be back when the tides turn for the AD's and boutiques that would not take my orders.

I won't be there to prop them up if they fall. These are watches not necessities and for the most part we have a pretty good sized collection where we don't really need another watch.

Same for me…we remember how they treated us…lol.

Really happy for you to be able to get hold of one, this is becoming a unicorn if not already.... Do try swapping the bracelet out for a strap. The 5960/1A is incredibly versatile!

In the beginning, I had the same issue with 5131/1P. I thought I didn’t like the bracelet and that kept me from ordering the watch. Well, I was lucky enough to change my mind shortly before it was discontinued. Nowadays, 5131/1P is my favorite piece in my...

Awesome incoming! Watch looks “brand new” and being SS will definitely be easier to wear. I guess it also depends on the weather where you live. I prefer bracelets to straps due to the humid summers. Wear it in good health and congrats!!🍾🎊

Exactly...to be revisited in the future but got so many pieces lined up we will see how it goes. Headed in a new direction and trying to become more of a patron and less of a hoarder 🤣😉
