Let me just say that your 5110 is a truly beautiful reference, but that, at the same time, with this latest choice I'm sure Patek didn't mean to question HK's (or anybody's!) identity ;-)

These denominations are periodically reviewed for a variety of reasons, which hardly include politics or political correctness. For instance, I'm a happy and genuine guy born and raised in Italy -- and my timezone is most often under Paris (and sometimes Geneva, since we are speaking of watches). The 5131R cities have also been updated every single year, as far as I can recall.
Please enjoy your gorgeous reference, like I'm sure many people will be enjoying the new 5230-012 and -014 models, and of course the 5231J-001. Cheers.

Just became aware of change from "Hong Kong" to "Beijing" in PP worldtime

I do remember "Hong Kong" was still in the city ring of 5230. But after seeing the Baselworld 2019 new worldtime enamel, I realised it isn't there anymore and same for 5230 pictures on PP website. As a guy being born and live in Hong Kong for the past 40 ...

I tend to agree too that PP is not making the change from a political perspective. As worldtime function is welcome by many business men/travellers, Beijing as the capital city of China is a reasonable choice for GMT+8. Changes in cities on the worldtime ...
