In his post yesterday , time4fun showed two Aquanauts and a Nautilus and asked us which was our favorite . Immediately, Bill 's superb photos of his ref. 5167R-001 came to mind (see below), so I replied it was my favorite , even though it wasn't among the...  

For me, it has a little more than just “its charm”: the warm tones make it really gorgeous. And among vintage reference, I would choose the 5060SJ-001. Just my taste, of course. ...  

I find that I appreciate it even more when ignoring the ongoing demand for this. Absolutely perfect sports timepiece!

In fact I know nothing precise about the ongoing demand. But of course I can imagine how difficult it is to get one… Best, Emmanuel

I love the 5167 for many reasons, and I've actually owned the 5167A twice in the past. It was my first Patek, so it has a special place in my heart. The R version was never in my radar, but every time I've tried it on, I realized how beautiful it is, and ...

But I have a complaint though, which applies to most Patek RG watches: the YG rotor doesn't match, and it looks to me like a sort of lazy cheap compromise... nothing can be perfect I guess 😅

I’ve never paid attention to this detail as I don’t own any watch with a gold central rotor. And the micro rotor of my Laurent Ferrier seems to match the pink gold case… ...  

Some brands do match the rotor and the case, or at least do it in a way that it looks nice. That's what I would expect at this level. Patek though doesn't do it today. It has introduced some white rotors recently, but most rotors are yellow gold. And to m...
