Without going into secondary market considerations, both are arguably terrific (though very different!) Patek sports/classy choices. My own preference is probably the 5968A, which might also make for a great summer watch with the orange strap ;-)

5968A which is an easy one for me for a multitude of reasons...
1) 5968A is a more fun and more versatile watch. 2) Much prefer the pushers on 5968A and dislike the leftside pushers on 5990/1A. 3) I like thin Nautilus whereas 5990/1A is a thick monstrosity (in my eyes) with a convoluted case / pusher assortment. 4) No...
Used to own a 5980 and currently own a 5968
5968 all the way. I prefer the larger 42mm size. Simple as that. 5968 better.
