Patek Philippe

Hi all, I recently got my first Patek, blue dial 5960. Great watch but not too impressed with the single fold deployment clasp. Do Patek do alternative clasps by any chance - like a double folding one? Many thanks.

but Patek only makes the single fold clasp and the traditional tang buckle. May I ask what it is about the clasp that you dont like ?

Hi Roger1 As the watch is quite weighty I tend to wear the clasp quite snug and therefore the curved end of it tends to dig into the outer side of the wrist (just under the bone! ouch). The double folded deployments I have on some of my other watches don'... 

You may find that it becomes more comfortable as the strap becomes more flexible with use. I have the grey dialed 5960 with a broken-in strap that is very comfortable, but the blue dialed version, which I've only worn a few days, isn't comfortable yet. I ...

At least not this year.... It would be an interesting model if it would be in ss, don't you think? Again congratulations.... How about a comparison review between the two faces? Enjoy them both.... Cheers

Would be, to switch the strap around so the buckle is attached to 6 o'clock in stead of 12 o' clock. Many use this "trick". Best Christian

Many thanks, also as mentioned by Park the strap maybe needs to soften up a bit, as I've only had the watch for a few days, and hopefully I'll just get used to it.

Is the calatrava cross deployment clasp bigger than the buckle deployment clasp I've seen pictures of?

You might also try and order a short strap and play around with combinations to get the buckle to sit centered on your wrist.

I have the pleasure of owning several Pateks, including heavy ones like 5146P and light ones like 5140G. In all watches, I DON'T use the Patek deployants because of their poor design and lack of comfort. Most importantly, several times the strap of my hea... 

I am actually in the process of getting rid of the deployment and replacing it with a buckle. I tried various strap sizes and switching it around and all that but found it odd that I had to go through all this in the first place. Never had any such issues... 

The PP deployant is a nice feature to the watch. Maybe the heavy watches are a problem, but anyone who complains about comfort doesn't wear it right. There is areason PP sells a lot of different straps lengths. You can tailor your watch to your wrist and ...
