The proportions are perfect, the design so pure and classy, the slim case so comfy on the wrist, the dial indeed so well balanced… in the end it’s a perfect stunning daily wearer but also flies under the radar.
It’s not too long it is in my stable actually, it’s only about 2 years thanks to an opportunity that occurred by chance. I was visiting my favorite dealer in Paris for meeting Nico and Mahesh and this stunning 1st series 3940 had recently come in. It was actually supposed to be on hold for a discerning collector but I grabbed the piece immediately and left them no choice. Of course they could have refused but they were kind enough to let me get it, they know me well since long and know how passionate I am 😉. I was lucky…

Wisely I don’t know, the premium for first series is actually very high but I choose by passion only… and I enjoy this one tremendously so that’s the only thing that matters 😉

I can feel the words come from your heart, you are so much right about loving this watch! Actually 3940 is a pure beauty in every metal (in my long horological journey I have owned all four metal versions) and they are all amazing.

I was close to acquiring the later iteration - 5327g blue dial. Tried it on my wrist and felt a tad too small on my wrist, so no go.
5327 is a beautiful version too…
But of course a more modern iteration vs mine which has clearly a vintage vibe. You must have a much larger wrist than mine, 3940 is only 36mm i.e. (vs 39mm for the 5327).
There are so many that we all missed… 🤷♂️
As we often say the train has left the station so it’s now late for jumping into it. But late doesn’t always mean too late…
Will power surely, deep wallet would certainly help but is not always mandatory…
For being able to get this one I had to let go several other beauties of my collection ; as we often say choosing is renouncing 🤷🏻♂️ and I made my choice with no regrets
