Patek Philippe

Hi I've noticed that when the 5130 was first released, it came with a deployant tyoe buckle that was the more traditional "V" shape However it appears that the more recent ones now come with the older style Calatrava Cross buckle as seen in in the previou... 

I confirm it has been removed for safety reasons (Patek Philippe Paris told me about 2 years ago in January 2011)

Any idea when they actually started to do this?

but they are changing all "V-type" folding clasps to the traditional Calatrava type. Free of charge. Best, Kari

Thanks From posts here it appears that they will indeed change it, free of charge though>? even out of the warranty period? So you just go into a PP boutique or service center and they will change it?

I changed one folding clasp in Geneva Salon and two in London Salon. All of these three watches were older than two years. In both Salons they told that the clasps are changed as a safety measure and indeed, the traditional Calatrava clasp feels safer and... 

Do they chance this only on the 5130 or also for the 5960P? Sebastiaan

I got it changed to 5196P, 5196R and 5124G. For all of those I bought the folding clasp afterwards. Best, Kari

Thank you for your reaction. I'm going to Geneve next week and i will discus the issue. This will be for the 5960P and the 5350R. My 5960P goes for the third time back to Patek! First time the pusher broken Second time watch pointers broken And now he doe... 

However, Geneva can for sure help you. At least for me they have done simply amazing work. I had a BMW 550i that simply lost all the electricity and stopped to a traffic jam during Friday afternoon rush hours. The car was one week old. Anyhow, it was a mi... 

But after the third time the trust is not gone with the brand Patek but the thrust in this watch(5960) is gone. Repair it again or ask for a new watch? I am happy to say that the will deliver the 5131 G in 2014. So the trust in Patek is not gone! Kind reg... 

In the workshops Patek can make small miracles for the case, take the movement to the smallest pieces and replace anything. Why would they agree to give you a new watch? I would guess that they will repair your watch and compensate in some form the waitin... 

No is was not related to the 5960P. I ordered one at a Patek P. store where i bought all my watches. I also go to the museum from Patek. Hope to see many nice watches. Kind regards Sebastiaan.
