You are quite right that the primary determoinant of value in the 2526 is the dial. Any nick, cracks or defects will markedly devalue the watch.
If the indices are mismatched this would also adversly affect value . I would definietly send this defect to PP to be rectified ( which I am sure the can) If this is rectified I do not think this would affect the vale and would restore the value back to " normal"
I have seen one 2526 with a factory replaced enamel dial but did not see the watch , only the picture. I was unaware that PP had replacement enamel dials for this model.
