Different movements perhaps
Both 2551 and 2552 have automatic movements. 2551 uses 12-600AT (used between 1953~1960) while earlier 2552s have the same 12-600AT (as used in 2526) and later 2552s have the 27-460 movement (1960~1980), as used in 3445.
Case shapes are similar (for me, very hard to tell) and both, I think, are must-haves for vintage Patek lovers.

The 2552 is known as the disci volante due to its shape. Did the 2551 also come with a manual movement? Julian
