5959 and the ladies version 7059R
So Patek has decided to release a grand complication for the ladies and it has done it with this split seconds monopusher.
The 5959 was always going to be for the connoisseur collector, who does not follow trends, due to its small size. It was admired but was never a seller as today's gentleman (uhhh!) requires something more macho with which to define himself. Clearly, I exclude men who are physically too challenging for the size of the watch.
I put it to you that the 5959 has had its reputation further damaged now that the same size is available for the woman, not that I am complaining as I love the understatement of the watch.
